Aquazone is a chemical water dosing and filtration company, operating as part of the Ross-Shire Engineering (RSE) Group. As part of a wider engineering group, Aquazone works closely with sister company Accord and uses shared systems and standards across finance, payroll and operations. With growing complexity across group entities, having aligned, connected financial systems became critical.

The Challenge

Outdated systems limiting group-wide efficiency

Before AccountsIQ, Aquazone relied on Sage 50 and paper-based processes. These legacy tools made it difficult to meet group finance standards and created inefficiencies across reconciliations, reporting and data visibility.

Manual processes slowed the finance team down and limited alignment with the wider RSE Group.

“Previously, we relied on the basic Sage 50 and paper-based processes, which really limited efficiency and alignment within the Ross-Shire Engineering Group standards.”
— Luke Holland, Finance Manager, Aquazone

The Solution

Connected finance with AccountsIQ and Flow

With support from Accord, both a customer and partner of AccountsIQ, Aquazone implemented AccountsIQ alongside the group’s internal management system, Flow.

Together, AccountsIQ and Flow now support:

  • Purchase orders
  • Ledgers
  • Payroll
  • Group-wide financial reporting

The onboarding process was smooth, with training and support helping the team move quickly away from legacy systems.

The Results

The move away from Sage 50 and paper-based accounts to AccountsIQ has been phenomenal. The system is really easy to use and the support and reporting is great.

Automation, visibility, and time saved

AccountsIQ has transformed Aquazone’s day-to-day finance operations:

  • Reconciliations automated, cutting a 3-hour task down to minutes
  • Bulk journal uploads saving significant manual effort
  • GL Explorer enabling deeper, faster analysis
  • Extended Business Analysis supporting accurate job costing and project visibility

These improvements give business leaders clearer, more reliable financial insight — faster.

Looking Ahead

Deeper insights with Power BI

Next, Aquazone plans to integrate Power BI with AccountsIQ, unlocking even more powerful management reporting and real-time insight across the group.

“Power BI integration is something I’m really interested in for providing even more fluid management information.”
